Business funding

An advance against your sales — not a bank loan

Business funding is often explained in language that makes it hard to compare. You'll hear "advance" more than "loan," and "factor rate" more than "interest" — for good reason: it works differently to a bank loan, and it's worth understanding before you sign anything.

How it works

Four steps, start to finish

STEP 1 Tell us your numbers Your average card takings, and how much funding you need.
STEP 2 Get an advance offer A lump sum, plus a fixed amount payable on top, agreed upfront. This is the "factor rate" — not interest, and it doesn't change if you pay it off quickly or slowly.
STEP 3 Funds land fast Typically within 24–48 hours, not weeks.
STEP 4 Repay as you trade A small, pre-agreed slice of your daily card takings goes toward paying it off automatically. Busy day, you repay a bit more. Quiet day, you repay less. No fixed monthly bill to find.
What funding can be used for

Support for the moments that matter

Working capital & cash-flow support Bridging a slow month, covering a VAT bill, or smoothing seasonal dips.
Equipment & stock investment New kit, a bigger order, or stocking up ahead of a busy period.
Renovation & expansion Refurbishing the space, adding covers, or opening a second site.
General business investment Marketing, hiring, or anything else that needs money before it makes money.
Which is cheaper?

Honestly, it depends on your numbers

The real cost of an advance comes down to the factor rate you're offered, the percentage taken from daily sales, and how quickly your business repays it — and that varies provider to provider, business to business. There's no single "cheapest" answer we can put on a website, because the true cost is different for every business.

That's exactly why it's worth talking to us before you apply direct. We work with a panel of established UK funding providers, put your numbers in front of more than one, and come back with the actual offers side by side — the full amount repayable, not just a headline rate — so you can see what it really costs before committing to anything.

Common questions

Funding questions we get asked

What is a merchant cash advance? A lump sum advanced against your future card sales. Instead of fixed monthly repayments, a pre-agreed percentage of each day's card takings goes toward clearing it — so repayment tracks how well you're trading.
What's a factor rate, in plain terms? A multiplier on the amount advanced that sets the total repayable, fixed at the start. Unlike interest, it doesn't accrue over time — so repaying faster doesn't reduce what you owe in total, it just clears it sooner.
Do I need a perfect credit score? Providers weigh your trading history and card volume heavily, so decisions aren't driven by credit score alone the way a bank loan often is. Approval still isn't guaranteed and every application is subject to the provider's own underwriting.
Does taking an advance mean changing my card terminal? Sometimes, depending on the provider — repayment is collected from card settlement, so it can depend on who processes your payments. We flag this upfront rather than letting it surprise you. See card terminals →
What does it cost me to use you? Nothing directly. We're paid commission by the provider on a successful introduction, and we'll tell you that plainly before you decide anything.
